Installing NERO-DIM
This module is used for dimming lights. The module can be controlled either through a NEXUS-NERO Communications Gateway or through a wall switch.
The NERO-DIM module measures the power consumption of lights and supports connection of a digital temperature sensor.
It is designed to act as repeater in order to improve range and stability of the Z-Wave Network.
1. INSTALLATION
-
Before the installation, disconnect the power supply
-
Connect the module according to electrical diagram
-
Locate the antenna as far as possible from metal elements
-
Do not shorten the antenna
1.1 3-Wire Installation Only
The NERO-DIM module only supports 3-wire installations, active, load and neutral.
1.2 Supported Switches
The module supports momentary switches (push button) and toggle switches. The module is factory set to operate with momentary switches.
1.3 Lighting Bench Testing for Compatibility
It is always recommended to bench test lights prior to installation. This is specifically important with LED lights due to the increasing number of variations in component specifications.
1.4 Maximum Load
Take note of the NERO-DIM’s 0.6A maximum load that equates to 140W. The NERO-DIM has been designed specifically as a universal LED dimmer for the residential market with the assumption that the total LED lighting circuit load will not exceed 140W. For this reason, if other loads such as halogens are used, take special note of the total power consumption of the circuit.
1.5 Overcurrent Protection Fuse
NERO-DIM must be protected by an over current protection fuse not rated any higher than 1A as illustrated in the wiring diagram.
Danger of electrocution!
-
Module installation requires a great degree of skill and may be performed only by a qualified and licensed electrician.
-
Even when the module is turned off, voltage may be present on its terminals. Any works on configuration changes related to connection mode or load must always be performed with a disconnected power supply.
Note: Do not connect the module to loads exceeding recommended values. Connect the module only in accordance to the below diagram. Improper connections may be dangerous.
